1. What information do we collect?

Personal information you provide

Name, email address, username (for account creation and authentication).

Application data

Screen-time data, goals, usage history, app-blocking preferences, and progress.

This information is stored locally on your device.

For your convenience, it is also automatically backed up to your personal iCloud account so your data can be restored if you delete and reinstall the app.

Mindnest LLC does not have access to or control over the information stored in iCloud. Apple’s privacy policies apply to your use of iCloud.

Optional social features

Screentox offers optional social features that allow you to connect with friends and view each other's estimated daily screen time. Participation in these features is entirely optional.

If you choose to enable social features, certain information such as your username, profile image, and estimated screen-time data will be securely transmitted to and stored in our databases (e.g., Supabase) in order to provide this functionality. Depending on your settings, this information may be visible to other users you choose to connect with.

Screen-time values displayed in the app and shared through social features are estimates based on device activity data and may not exactly match system-reported Screen Time.

You can disable social features or remove friends at any time within the app.

Push notification settings

With your permission, we may send you notifications related to your account, reminders, or app features. You can control these preferences in your device settings.

Limited device information (OS version, crash logs, diagnostics)

We may collect technical information to help troubleshoot problems, improve app performance, and maintain security.

Payment information

If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed securely through Apple. Screentox does not store your credit card number.

Automatically collected data

• Log and usage data (e.g., timestamps, feature use, performance metrics).
• Device information (model, operating system, IP address).

2. How do we process your information?

We use your information to:

• Facilitate account creation and authentication.
• Track and display your screen-time usage and goals.

3. What legal bases do we rely on?

If you are in the EU/UK, we rely on:

• Consent (e.g., marketing emails, optional notifications).
• Contract (to provide the app you signed up for).
• Legal obligations (to comply with law, billing, taxes).
• Legitimate interests (to improve and secure the app).

If you are in the U.S. or other regions, we process data as allowed under local law.

4. When and with whom do we share information?

We may share your information with:

• Apple (for subscription management, billing, refunds).
• Supabase (for authentication, database storage).
• Analytics and crash reporting tools (for app improvement).
• Other Screentox users, only if you choose to enable social features, and only to the extent necessary to display social functionality (such as showing estimated screen-time data to connected friends).
• Legal authorities if required by law.

We never sell your personal information.

5. International data transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. If you access Screentox from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred and processed in the U.S. and other countries. We take steps to protect your information consistent with this policy.

6. Data retention

We retain your personal information as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we either delete or anonymize your data unless longer retention is required by law (e.g., for tax/accounting purposes).

7. Security

We use encryption and industry-standard security measures to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee complete protection against unauthorized access.
